DESCRIPTION:Xavier White is Artist in Residence at Christ Church Streatham and recently unveiled his first artwork of the residency\, Maryam. Come and discover his art in the beautiful surroundings of Christ Church Streatham. \nXavier White (b. 1993) is a London-based artist and curator. His work is rooted in activism and provides a contemporary socio-political commentary on topics such as late stage capitalism\, identity\, and toxic masculinity. Harnessing the power of semiotics\, childhood toys\, and bold colours\, he makes complex political issues appear accessible\, juxtaposing nostalgia and fun with the problematic past and present. \nHis work has been displayed across the United Kingdom\, including the Royal Academy of Arts\, and is held in private collection. \nXavier recently won the People’s Vote Award at the Brixton Tate Library this summer for his artwork Hungry Hungry Hypocrites!
