Two workshops on Sun 11 and Sat 17 October, 2-4pm
£5 – £10

Get creative during Streatham Festival 2020 and join local artist and Woodfield volunteer, Rosanna McNamara, for two hand embroidery workshops at The Woodfield Pavilion on Tooting Common.

Tickets include an embroidery kit with embroidery thread and hoop, a needle and a cotton tote bag to customise, as well as a free tea or coffee.

With Rosanna’s guidance, you will learn the basics to embroidery, how to mount a hoop, practice simple stitches and start creating your own embroidered tote bag to take home. Alternatively, you can bring your own materials and project to work on.

The workshops are open to all abilities and ages. Please note, children 11 and under must be accompanied by an adult as the workshops involve needles and sharp scissors.

Standard: £10
Concession (unwaged, student): £5
Member of TWP: £5 (must be paid by Standing Order)
Bring own materials and project: £5

Standard, member and concession tickets include an embroidery kit you can take home, with a cotton tote bag, thread, needle and a hoop.

If you already have materials and would like to bring your own project to work on, please purchase the appropriate ticket.

Please be assured that Woodfield is doing everything to keep visitors, volunteers and staff safe. Numbers for these workshops will be limited to ensure that social distancing measures are adhered to. Furniture and toilets are cleaned regularly and anti-bacterial gel will be available. In the event that the workshops have to be cancelled, tickets will be fully refunded.

Rosanna McNamara currently lives in Streatham and has been working with embroidery for nearly 4 years. She teaches workshops, both in person and online, and runs a monthly SEW WHAT! craft session with Woodfield on the third Saturday of every month. The Saturday 17 October workshop will run in place of the October SEW WHAT! session.
