Ishbel is a Scottish artist living in South West London.
Her love of Botanical Art started at a very young age. She used to spend many hours staring at Dutch and Flemish masterpieces of floral and still-life paintings, and was drawn especially to their vibrancy of colour and the fascination of their intricate details.
Ishbel studied Botanical Art at The Society of Botanical Artists, London Art College, Chelsea School of Botanical Art, The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, along with private courses with some the finest artists in the Botanical field in the UK and the Netherlands.
She produces delicate and beautiful artworks, in watercolour, graphite, pen and ink. Ishbel is able to make her work scientifically accurate, to the exact colour, size and detail. She works from living, moving subjects, presenting her with a wonderfully intriguing challenge.
Ishbel has recently started expanding her craft by exploring different styles, such as abstract work using coloured inks and acrylics on canvas, and photography. Both styles remain in the theme and directly complement her Botanical specialisation.
