Bernardete Blue’s artistic practice reflects on the experience of Motherhood and being a woman.
The artist uses domestic materials and homemade bread as sculptural mediums. This materials’ basic components 
transformed through energetic kneading, caress, and the yeast’s pillowy effect followed 
by the baking in the oven can be comprehended as an analogy to generate and give birth a child.
Instructing a child to not play with food is therefore taken by the mother as means to confront 
what’s expected from her as a multifaceted woman and, consequently, release socially repressed desires, 
challenging what being a capable mother and a dedicated artist actually means.
